I have been curious about how social studies teachers feel about some questions that they might not be able to answer. I asked our AP government teacher Ms.Reyes about 8 questions and to say I was surprised with her answers was an understatement. Many of the questions that I had asked it felt like I knew how she would answer but I was shocked with many of her responses. Social studies is essential because it equips individuals with the critical thinking and cultural awareness needed to understand how human societies function. It bridges disciplines like history, geography, civics, and economics to build active, informed citizens capable of navigating a complex and interconnected world. If I had to do this interview again I would try and ask more questions about the different branches of the government and what else she would change if she had the ability to be in a position of power.
