The Academy Awards are one of the most popular and entertaining shows in the world, as they are entering a new chapter of their story. The Academy Awards have been hosted at the Dolby Theatre, which was also known as the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, since 2002, but now the Oscars have officially confirmed that they will be relocating to the Peacock Theater in L. A live in Downtown Los Angeles at the start of 2029. This theater was constructed with 3,400 seats specifically for the Academy Awards telecast. The design of this theater was inspired by the golden age of Hollywood, also having columns that have the names of the past best picture winners engraved in them. Soon, the Academy Awards will be given a new home, one where they aren’t attached to a shopping center.

The Peacock Theater will undergo comprehensive enhancement to its stage, lighting, sound systems, etc. This will make the venue seem more modern and groundbreaking for the Oscars ceremonies. This was a major part of the agreement that was done with sports and entertainment behemoth AEG, the owner of L.A. Live. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has also explained that the new transformations that the venue will go through will help support and make their future more successful; this all wouldn’t have been possible without the help of L.A. Live. The Dolby Theatre has been known for its Hollywood charm, being close to other popular places such as the TCL Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame, but due to the fact that the theatre was established in a shopping mall. It led people to feel like the theater didn’t fit in with the style of the rest of the plaza. As the Dolby Theater relocates to L.A. Live, it will give the place a newer and more exciting look that fits better with today’s entertainment world.
