If you missed it, last week, I talked about Genshin Impacts’ groundbreaking virality. This weeks part will be about the games engagement that has so many players hooked.
Engagement
The Genshin community also is very welcoming and helpful. Being able to connect with people over Genshin, led to knowing more people that had the same interests. Joining other players’ servers, and seeing what they had was very entertaining, and the things they said in chat were amusing. Players were making the game more fun and chill at the same time. So many people were on one game, you could meet other players and game for hours.
There are two main characters and NPC’s that can be chosen as the game starts, after a cut scene, it leaves your character stranded on an island. The game’s main goal is to find their sibling who was lost to an unknown god, but along the way, players collect characters to add to their team to fight off opponents. Enthusiasts learn how to play the game and how it works, however, some say it’s a lot, but others disagree.
Take a look at “Is Genshin losing players? Let’s unpack the facts” by Tatiana Burgos on Playbite, “Genshin Impact keeps players hooked with constant updates, new characters, and exciting collaborations with other popular franchises, like KFC and Pizza Hut. The game’s developers, miHoYo, also have a robust social media presence, keeping players engaged outside of the game, she explains how Genshin keeps players hooked in-game and even out. Because of the many updates and marketing supporting the game , means players always know what’s going on in Genshin. These players who always know what goes on in the game are huge as something may intrigue them into playing and doing many of the multiple activities released in the game.
Genshin has so many things you can do, from going through the main storylines, side storylines, character storylines, minigames and so much more. Referring back to how the controls were complex, it truly makes you want to look into the game and how it works.
When I first started playing, I understood nothing, but as I saw how people got better by understanding the many factors that go into the game, it helped me to get much better. Since the beginning, the game has kept me glued, and playing the main storyline is a huge pull. I was personally addicted to leveling up my characters to cause more damage, because when you kill more bosses you get more rewards.
The complexity of how the characters work and how the world works is extraordinary. The different points and aspects of the world including, the statues, little villages you find, and the different areas, are just a few scenes of what the game offers. The many characters that attracted people to play, have complexity of their own. For instance, the characters have their own elemental powers that connect to real world elements like fire, water, etc.. Genshin has so many factors as to why people play, it explains why fans come back.
Check back next week Tuesday to find out about retention in Genshin Impact.
