Our Hawkins Swim team went up against many different schools in LAUSD for their first swim meet of the season. The swim team went to swim at Middle College, facing against different schools like Foshay, Middle College, USC Harbor, etc. This year, there are a greater amount of swimmers who joined our Hawkins Swim Team, having more people who can swim in these different swim meets.
Swimming is such a hard sport to compete in, and with so many students willing to join the sport and competing in these swim meets should be shown a lot more appreciation. Not many people know how to swim but due to the help with the swim meet coaches, Ms. Sharpe, Ms. Kong, and Ms. Hernandez, these students are able to learn how to swim and get the confidence needed to compete.
