Play-Offs of the UEFA Champions League are wrapped and done, some woo’s but also wow’s.
First game to take place was Galatasaray vs Juventus, first match lead to a 5-2 win for Galatasaray, as well as a red for player Juan Cabel from Juventus in the 67th minute. The second leg (second game) was a 3-2 win for Juventus yet having a player getting a red in the 48th minute from player Lloyd Kelly. In the end Galatasaray having those two goals in the second game lead to them getting through with a 5-7 aggregate lead.
Monaco vs PSG took place right after with the first leg being a 2-3 win for PSG, player Aleksandr Golovin received a red card in the 48th minute leading to Monaco being one player down. The second leg was a draw at 2-2 with Monaco player Mamadou Coulibaly receiving a red card in the 58th minute. This led to PSG getting through on a 5-4 aggregate lead.
Benfica and Real Madrid played and the first leg was a 0-1 win for Real Madrid with an incident taking place during it between two players regarding racism. The second leg was a 2-1 win for Real Madrid over Benfica leading to the aggregate score being a 3-1 win for them.
Dortmund and Atlanta followed which led to a 2-0 win for Dortmund. The second leg led to an upset with Atlanta running away with the game in a 4-1 win against Dortmund. Red cards were delivered to players Nico Schlotterbeck in the 90th minute, at the end of the game. As well as Ramy Besnebainin in the 97th minute in extra time. Due to Atlanta running with the game in the second leg they went through with a 4-3 score on aggregate.
Qarabag FK faced Newcastle at home in the first leg and lost 1-6 leading to a large margin for the team to try to come back from. The second leg was close with Newcastle still winning but by one goal in a score that was 3-2. The aggregate was 9-3 in favor of Newcastle.
Olympiacos went against Leverkusen at home in the first leg in a 0-2 loss in Leverkusen winning the game. The second leg was Leverkusen at home which ended in a 0-0 draw for both teams. Leverkusen went through on a 2-0 aggregate score.
Bodø/Glimt faced Inter Milan with many people thinking Inter would have an easy time, but they were wrong. In the first leg Bodø/Glimt took a win at home in a 3-1 win. The second leg wasn’t much different with Bodø/Glimt taking a 1-2 win again leading to them having a 2-5 aggregate. And allowing them to go on through to the next round of the tournament.
The last teams to play were Club Brugge and Atlético Madrid. The first leg ended in a draw at 3-3 which was a surprise to many people. The second leg ended the way many people thought the first should have ended as well in a 4-1 win for Atlético Madrid. The aggregate was 7-4 in the end with Atlético Madrid going on through.
