Winning by a score 3-1 Boys JV soccer defeated Foshay in their first season game of the year. Varsity did their best, but lost their game 2-0. Last season Foshay’s Varsity record was 9 wins, 4 draws, and 2 loses, while Hawkins Varsity record was 17 wins, 5 draws, and 1 loss. The season is still young. There’s 20 or more games left to be played.

Christopher Beckford (CJ) provided his speed in the striker’s position and played the best to his abilities creating chances and shooting the ball when he could.

Oscar Melendez, the set piece taker for Varsity, played crucial roles in their set piece attempts when they were fouled. Delivering the ball directly to the group of players each time and having a good impact defending.

Varsity during half time while being 1-0 down, getting a stern talking from their coach due their performance. Aswell as making switches in the lineup and making tactical changes.

Sebas Martinez JV defender played spectacularly, keeping the ball away from Foshay players and driving the ball up the field creating chances for Hawkins strikers.

Newly appointed number 10 Anthony Almeida (A3) proved he does deserve the number by scoring a tying goal in the top left corner of the goal post and later providing an assist to a fellow player.

Later Andres Pedro (Pollo) follows up and scores another for Hawkins JV soccer making the score 2-1 for Hawkins, proving that being up as a striker is not the only way to score a goal.
