Hey Class of 2026!

If you haven’t started your college applications yet, now is the time to buckle down. The University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) application windows are closing fast, and missing the deadlines could mean missing out on your dream school.

UC Applications: Due December 1.
CSU Applications: Due December 1 as well.

It might seem early, but colleges need time to review applications, essays, and recommendation letters—and procrastination can cost you more than just stress.

Tips to stay on track:

Check your deadlines for each school—some programs may have earlier dates.
Gather materials: transcripts, test scores, letters of recommendation.
Write and revise your essays—your personal voice matters!

Remember: starting now means less panic later. Your future is in your hands, seniors—don’t let a missed deadline stand in the way of your next big adventure!

Imani Canada is a senior who will graduate in June of 2026 from Augustus F. Hawkins. She enjoys reading, taking pictures, eating, and painting. She tends to enjoy being at school and playing sports such as flag football and softball. She also enjoys spending time with her friends in and out of school. She is known for her positive attitude and willingness to help others. Imani hopes to continue her education after high school and pursue a successful career as an Orthopedic Surgeon.
