Twice a year, students present to their parents showing how well they are doing in each of their classes. It’s all part of the parent-teacher conference, which is mandated by the state for each school. This year’s student-led conference took place on Thursday, October 23 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Before they start, parents would be welcomed with a resource fair where they are allowed to explore information from community partners. Then families find their students’ CCR teacher; different grade levels were located in different locations, such as ninth grade was located at the lunch tables, senior teachers were in the library, and 10th and 11th grade were in the MPR. Families sit with their students while the student presents their slides showing how they are doing in their classes. Students highlight their successes and talk about their challenges. For challenges, they discussed what they will do to overcome them and who the student can count on for support.
The next student-led conference will be in the spring on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
