About the Contributors
Luis Fuentes, podcaster
Journalism was always fun and I enjoyed taking photos and it taught me a great deal about cameras and how to take photographs. Also I felt like journalism brought out the creativity I didn't know I had. In addition, I felt that what I learned about broadcasting might make for a great a career, because I want to have my own podcast about sports. Class of 2025
Osvaldo "Ozzy" Hernandez, Photographer
I am in the class of 2025. When I am not in school I usually like to do my favorite hobbies like play soccer or volleyball. Some things I learned in my journalism class is the use of lighting and positioning of objects and myself or others for portraits. I took the position as a reporter and I enjoyed the times where I've been needed. I also like to try to go to new positions but I have experience with taking pictures for the school's sports teams.
Mateo Juarez, a junior at Augustus F. Hawkins High School, is known for his adaptability in navigating situations that may feel uncomfortable to others. Passionate about personal growth, he consistently works on enhancing his communication skills. A nature enthusiast, Mateo enjoys spending time outdoors, finding inspiration and calm in natural settings. Each semester, he makes a effort to connect with new people, strengthening the sense of community within his school.
Eliezer Arroyo, Photographer
Eliezer Arroyo is 17 and currently on the way to becoming a young success. He has faced so many challenges, but has proved to be resilient. His interest in journalism stemmed from the belief that every person has a unique and interesting story that deserves to be heard, no matter how unimportant the person may seem to society. He aims to showcase stories from a perspective that the world may not see.
Elizabeth Alvarado, Reporter, Video Camera
Elizabeth Alvarado is a senior at Augustus F. Hawkins High School, class of 2025. She is a person who likes to take the lead in group projects because she likes to keep everyone on task. A project that she has kept everyone on task on was in her junior year when she had to debate in her AP English Lang and Comp class. Something to know about Elizabeth is that she's a part of the swim team and her best stroke is breaststroke. This is Elizabeth's first time in Journalism and she hopes to learn new stuff from the class. After high school she wants to become an Ultrasound technician and she said it will become a reality.
Bryan Diaz, Photographer
Bryan (Class of 2026), uses his love of learning and his ability to adapt to excel in his studies. His future goal is to be a Law Student. Bryan’s mission is to give a voice to those in need in the legal world. Apart from academics, Bryan enjoys listening to music, nature, and sleep.
