As the year is coming to an end, I have decided to reflect a few weeks early. This year was definitely my most stressful year as of now. It was really a long journey to handle as a pre-adult. There were lots of difficulties for me to deal with, and I was very overwhelmed. I didn’t feel as if I would be able to pass all my classes, ESPECIALLY, AP Calc. But I currently have a C, so I did it. Now, as much as you all would want to hear about my experience here at Hawkins, I would like to put my dedication to this post here to talk about Ms. Moore and her journalism class. I was really excited to join this class due to me wanting to take 4K pictures and videos with a professional camera. Although, I did slack off and eventually dug myself a hole I could not get out of. It wasn’t the teacher, it wasn’t the class, it was me. I was a very stubborn and unorganized person in this class, which made me reach a grade of D. I was not proud of myself whatsoever, however, I ended up trying to raise my grade. Ms. Moore is honestly one of the calmest and sweetest teachers you can have. Her voice is soothing to the point where you could tell her your darkest secrets, and she’d keep it! Taking pictures with the camera was really scary, one wrong move and BOOM! Broken! Scary huh? Well, imagine how I felt carrying it around trying to take pictures.
These pictures mean a lot to me. Although they’re just pictures of flowers and butterflies, they have a meaning for me. The butterflies have always been one of my favorite insects. They’re so gentle, beautiful, and just… butterflies. When my grandpa passed, I missed him dearly. I wish there was a sign that told me he was still with me by my side. One day, as I was getting home from school, there were at least four butterflies on my lawn. I have never seen this many butterflies in a really long time and I was genuinely confused. After that day, I kept seeing a butterfly no matter where I was, at school, home, or out and about. After that, I felt really happy and relieved. It was a beautiful sign for me to take this picture for an assignment. I’m really glad that I captured it.
To end this story, I would like to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who ended up supporting me during my high school journey. It was really a rough one, I know. And to the seniors, 2024 graduating class, WE CAN DO IT! We’re almost there, we just have a few weeks left. I’m very proud of everyone for giving us the best in each and every one of you. It’s not a goodbye, it’s just the end of a chapter…
